As I may have mentioned in an earlier post, my family is very supportive. So much so that they are some of my best commenters. When people leave comments, my blog will create a little cartoon monster guy as their picture (if they don’t have a picture). I set this up when I created my blog. They’re cute. All is good.
My sister just started a blog. She’s always got interesting things going on. She has chickens, bees and is now getting ready to build a huge vegetable garden. If you are interested in bees, chickens, vegetable gardens and other crafty things you might want to check out her blog. This blog is very new, like today new. So new that my sister hasn’t had time to mess around with all the little things like monster pictures showing up as a commenters photo. Problem, my mom now realizes she doesn’t have a picture.
This blog post is for my Mom and My-Mother-In-Law (because I know she will also want her own photo) and everyone else out there that wonders why some people have personal photos and they don’t.
That’s your answer. It’s super easy. Here’s what you need to do:
- Go to the Gravatar website
- Click on the big button that says “Get Your Gravatar Today”
- Put in your primary e-mail address – the address you would use when commenting on a blog post.
- Verify your e-mail address
- Upload a picture.
Pretty cool and very easy. If you think you are going to be bopping around the blogosphere or you just like to comment on one blog you should get a Gravatar. It’s fun and it creates a bit more of a personal connection.
You want your image to be square. The little green monster image is 45 pixels x 45 pixels. The Gravatar site will probably give you direction on the size of your image.
